I don't love how long it takes to load, but if they were videos I had to click to play, that would be worse. The Visual Studio Code release information pages are an example: - this page with uBlock is about as good as the modern web gets. Markdown + animated gif has been a great improvement in the world in recent years. I really hope it works for you as I know how frustrating it can be to drag and resize whatever you need to share with someone else.Nope, the opposite. That gave me the hint I needed to find this solution. To my surprise LICECap started to work on both monitors. I discovered this solution accidentally when I decided to test out this bug by closing my macbook so I was only working off two external monitors.I really hope it works for you as I know how frustrating it can be to drag and resize whatever you need to share with someone else. Currently I am on the latest 1.31 version with this solution working. I have installing different version of LICECap to bypass this issue which have not helped.I also have it listed under Accessibility although I don't know if that's required or not. Ensure that LICECap is listed under "Security & Privacy" -> "Screen Recording". If you are seeing a grey background instead a transparent outline, you likely are running to a common issue where you don't have permissions setup. This is likely because the menu bar was present on the retina display. When starting Licecap on the Retina Display it worked fine. The Black Screen issue only happened when using Licecap was used on an external monitor.Hopefully this helps some of the folks in this thread. Moving the menu bar back to the built-in retina display causes the problem to reoccur again so I'm pretty sure it's the cause for me. My Result: It started working on both my extended monitor and my DisplayLink USB Adapter monitor(used to work around M1 chip limitation). Drag the 'menu bar' to one of the external external monitor.Bring up the Displays arrangement preference.I hope it helps someone else who loves LiceCAP but struggles with this issue. The good news is that I was able to resolve it today with a trick I haven't seen anyone else mention yet. After a recent laptop refresh where I'm now working of a new M1 2020 Air running Big Sur 11.6 I ran into this issue again. I'm a big fan of LICEcap, but I have struggled with this black screen issue on different external monitors for the past few years.
